Meryn's ChildSpree

The Mervyn’s store in Ahwatukee will be hosting its annual ChildSpree on Saturday, July 19, 2008.

Mervyn’s nationwide matches non-profit funds to provide a back to school shopping event for needy children. This year 95 local, economically disadvantaged school age children will be able to spend $100 each on new clothes and shoes. In addition, each child is supplied with a backpack filled with school supplies thanks to the contributions of local contributors. Participating in the event are Sun Lakes Charities, The Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee and Mountain View Lutheran Church. Also helping Mervyn’s with the event are Intel volunteers and the Boys & Girls Club of Guadalupe. Donations of school supplies or cash would be appreciated.
